King John, Hildegard of Bingen and Harald Hardrada from the Middle Ages in Europe, are remembered in history because they helped civilize the medieval times and because they have significantly influenced the roots of our modern-day world. King John was significant because his behaviour drove the writing of the famous Magna Carta. Hildegard of Bingen was recognised through history because she helped the church write about theology, as well as that she composed music for the church. Harald Hardrada was remembered through history as the last great Viking of Norway and for his role in revising the royal succession rights.
