How the human eye works and what is the imaging principle of our eyes? When an object is very far away from the human eye, it images on the retina. When an object is close to the human eye, if the focal length of the lens unchanged, it's image will fall behind the retina and cannot be seen clearly. But in fact, when the human eye observes objects from far to near, the focal length of the lens will become smaller, therefore, people can observe objects clearly. In other words, Lens is equivalent to a convex lens and the retina is just like the screen. The distance between lens and retina does not change, but people's eyes can change their focal length by adjusting the plano-convex degree of the lens to obtain an inverted, smaller real image. In the meantime, nerve impulse will be generated, passing into the visual center of cerebral cortex along the optic nerve, thereby forming a vision. Cameras have the same imaging principle with human eyes.
