When creating a repository, it is of course to be expected that restrictions will be encountered. As the current specifications for the repository on Pirates and Piracy are based on the target audience of primary school teachers, one must take in to consideration the location of the teachers who will be accessing the materials. Mentioned in the specifications section of the report, access to the internet is required in order to utilise the repository, and whilst the client is “broadening the scope of access” (Marchionini 1992), they may be in fact limiting it at the same time, as there is with very limited internet access in rural and remote areas of Australia. Both developers and curators need to work together to attempt a solution.
