Introduction: Discuss contemporary Australian theatre and its importance and relevance in our modern society. Theatre is a unique art form, and you need to show you understand the power of theatre to engage and challenge audiences. You can introduce the play titles, playwrights' names, and the techniques and conventions that you will discuss. These are the HOW issues and concerns are made engaging and challenging. You may choose to introduce the issues and concerns you will discuss here too. Body: Brief introduction to the first play you will discuss (eg. 'Stolen') - why it was written, what makes it engaging and challenging. Introduce your first issue. Discuss the 'How' eg.'We explored this issue by directing and performing the scene of the Mungee....' Discuss the techniques/conventions you utilised with specific reference to the performance on the stage. Remember you are writing about THEATRE - the marker needs to SEE the scene on the stage. eg. Space, Lighting, Sound.... Brief introduction of the second play - as above. Continue with this structure. Conclusion: Sum up your discussion - don't repeat the introduction, make your ending sparkle - you may have a quote about theatre, a quote from one of the playwrights - be creative. Ensure you have: QUOTES from the texts - 2/3 per scene. Drama language - elements of drama etc Wording from the question - linking to the question throughout.
